That's a long story of this work.
In 1987 to sad Pushkin's anniversary I had prepared and published a catalogue of the bookplates of A. S. Pushkin's contemporaries with whom the poet was acquaint. Having received edition circulation I presented to the keeper of funds of museum T. G. Shevchenko two copies – for the museum and to her personally. She has rather insistently suggested me to prepare similar work about contemporaries – acquaintances of Ò. G. Shevchenko. 18 years have passed and I have collected necessary materials offered now to an inquisitive reader.
